Frankly there is . I fyou do a lot of number entry it is better to have it the way ATT does it. For emailing a well it is very convenient to have ATT scheme with punctuation at top.
I can see your preference but I bet ATT test marketed the idea. You and I and most visitors here may buy as consumers but most/many of these top WM phones are sold in lots to corporate buyers, and that is probably who they test marketed the scheme with.

Q: Hi i recently purchased a htc touch diamond..but i have a rather awful problem..the htc diamond is supposed to have a TOUCH FLO 3D screen by default but mine did not...on starting the cellphone initially it had a normal screen with windows menus...so does anybody know as to how i should activate this feature...i cannot reset cause the contact information on the cell phone is invaluable...any sort of suggestio would be really welcome...
