Sprint to offer unlimited WiMAX data access on new Evo View 4G tablet
Jun 14, 2011Sprint Nextel's ( NYSE: S ) Evo View 4G tablet, slated for commercial availability on June 24, will come with unlimited mobile WiMAX data services at a higher usage tier than what the company has been offering for tablet data plans.
According to Sprint spokeswoman Kristin Wallace, who spoke with sister publication FierceWireless , the new plans are somewhat similar to the operator's current tablet data plans. On Sprint's CDMA EV-DO network, the operator offers 1GB of data for $20, 3GB for $45 and 5GB for $60. The Evo View 4G will come with two new tablet pricing options: a tier of 10GB of data for $90 plus access to unlimited WiMAX data and plans starting at 3GB of CDMA EV-DO data usage and higher.
Sprint has previously announced it will launch both the HTC Evo 3D smartphone and the Evo View 4G tablet on June 24.
