Of the three products, my finished favorite is the Attractiveness Bar a.k.a. soap. I've been using it as my essence soap for the recent few weeks and it has restored my intuition in bath soaps. how does the Derma Wand deliver purified oxygen to the skin w/o an O2 source?

Q: Ok. Purchased the Derma Wand in Dec 07. Happen to have an appt with my skin Dr. in April, brought the Derma Wand with me. After she was done with her giggles. She said, "there is no oxygen source, this cannot deliver O2 to your skin." I was feeling a little silly and gullible to say the least. Have made numerous phone calls, sent several emails to Derma Wand; needless to say....they have nothing to say. Will not provide refund because it is well after the 30 day trial period. I challenged them on how this should not apply to "false advertising?" I took this a step further and requested to be connected to their "technical" dept., also submitting the question, "how does this work? where does the O2 come from?" No one at Derma Wand has been able to answer this for me. When they offer to look into it and have someone call me back. Still waiting for that call.....it's been a month now.
Buyer Beware.

Confuse about Hydrogen Peroxide in skin care?

Q: I encountered a moisturizer that uses O2 as the feature for purifying and whitening and when I read the label it ACTUALLY contains Hydrogen Peroxide to make O2. I remember Hydrogen Peroxide is a corosive agent but I searched online seems that many brands using O2 as a "benefit" for skin and they need Hydrogen Peroxide to produce that O2. I agree to your reply that I should not mix corrosive with metal [silver] but can you help me with Hydrogen Peroxide confusion? Will it burn my skin?

A: Hydrogen peroxide is okay at lower concentrations; it won't burn your skin.

I use it to clean some minor cuts & sometimes to clear blackheads.

It kills bacteria but some people avoid it because it can contribute to premature aging from free radical damage.

There is a great deal of current research showing that hydrogen peroxide is problematic as a topical disinfectant because it can greatly reduce the production of healthy new skin cells (Source: Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, September 2001, pages 675–687). Hydrogen peroxide is also a significant oxidizing agent, meaning that it generates free-radical damage. While it can function as a disinfectant, the cumulative problems that can stem from impacting the skin with a substance that is known to generate free-radical damage, impair the skin's healing process, cause cellular destruction, and reduce optimal cell functioning are serious enough so that it is better to avoid its use (Sources: Carcinogenesis, March 2002, pages 469–475; and Anticancer Research, July-August 2001, pages 2719–2724).
